Healthy Cell Phone Adoption
DGS Northfield aspires to prioritize the mental health of the students we serve and to step into a leadership role when a need arises. As such, we see a compelling reason to recommend that families follow a gradual plan for cell phone adoption for their student. We also recommend that families of students with cell phones make a concrete plan for your child’s phone use that answers questions on wether the phone should put away at a certain time of night, if there are times it is not expected to be used and where it should be charged.

Tuesday April 15th Town Hall
Any interested community members are invited to attend “The Central Park and Park Hill Community Town Hall: Raising Adolescents in Smartphone Era”. We will meet in the Northfield HS Cafeteria on Tuesday, 4/15. 5:30-6:30pm. RSVP here.
This town hall is open to all interested parents in the Park Hill and Central Park Community. The town hall will focus on the need for collective action to develop a healthier cell phone adoption plan for pre-teens and teens in the area and the way our actions can compliment one another. The content is geared toward parents, but young people can come if parents would like.
The town hall is organized by the administration team at DGS Northfield, but will include a wide array of speakers, time for table conversation and other ways we can work together on this topic.
